About Minecraft
Minecraft’s an independent, sandbox-construction video game that has been written in a computer language called Java. It was originally crafted by Markus “Notch” Persson (a Swedish creator) & then taken over by Mojang (his company).
Minecraft focuses on building & creativity, thereby allowing the player to build a construction out of numerous textured cubes (3D world). The Game play had 2 principal modes in the commercial release: Survival, which needed the player to obtain resources on his/her own & maintain his/her health as well as hunger; then there was Creative, wherein the players have unlimited supplies of resources, with a skill to fly, & no concept whatsoever of hunger or health. Then there came a 3rd mode in game play, called Hardcore, which essentially was similar to Survival, however the difficulty was locked on hardest settings & re-spawning was disabled, which then forced the players to delete their worlds upon death. There also a Classic version, though outdated, which is also today available (free of cost), although it’s no longer in production. The Creative mode of Minecraft is quite similar to Classic, but has many more additional features. Game play’s been heavily enthused by Infiniminer (Zachtronics Industries) as well as Dwarf Fortress (Bay 12 Games).
17th of May, 2009 saw Minecraft being released as alpha, and the beta version of Minecraft followed on the 20th of December in 2010. For Android & iOS, the official releases & full versions of PC games were introduced on the 18th of November, 2011 @ MineCon 2011. The release for Android was temporarily restricted to Xperia PLAY, however it’s now available for the entire Android Market. For Xbox 360, on the other hand, a profoundly stripped version has been taken out of this game by autonomous game developers like 4J Studios. This was released 9th May, 2012. Minecraft is continually updated & patched…and when it was in the alpha release, Minecraft sales crossed more than a hundred thousand…it also received critical acclaim and notice from many reputed reviewers. On the 12th of January, 2011, the game has already crossed a million sales. By the 18th of February, 2012, Minecraft had sold over 5 million games!
Minecraft Game Play
Players in Minecraft have loads of liberty to select how they wish to play this game, with primary goals set as surviving monster attacks (also referred to in the game as “hostile mobs”) & building shelters. The foundation gameplay in Minecraft revolves around building & construction. This game world’s essentially created from cubes that are arranged in fixed grid patterns that represent different materials, for instance dirt, various ores, stone, tree trunks & water. While a player can freely move across this world, the items & objects can be only placed at specific/fixed locations that are relative to that grid. Players can gather material blocks & then place them somewhere else, consequently creating various kinds of constructions.
There are 3 gameplay modes in Minecraft: Survival, then Hardcore & last of all, Creative. There was a Classic mode with building only (block placement & removal). The game later was split into the mode for single-player’s survival, which contains monsters & much greater kinds of items & blocks.
